So I’ve been to Scotland a few weeks ago and didn’t take time to post about it yet. So many things have happened since then! Scotland has definitely changed my life. Like, falling in love and deciding to move to Glasgow in September. Yeah, no big deal.
I’ve first walked the West Highland Way, a 96 miles (156km) walk between Glasgow and Fort William, along Loch Lomond. Like most people, I did it seven days, walking between 15 to 20 miles a day. Easy peasy.
The walk was sometimes more difficult than what I was expecting. The weather surprisingly good. Yes, you can get sunburned in Scotland, trust me. But it was mostly amazing! Walking surrounded by sheep and highland cows, taking breaks of walking the feet in the river, camping. And every evening, I was meeting the same persons at the only bar of the tiny stop-over towns. Telling stories about the day, drinking beers, sharing food and comparing blisters and midges bites. A lot of new friends.
After the hike, I’ve rented a car to visit Mull and Skye isles. Of course absolutely beautiful. Driving on super tiny roads, wild camping in the middle of nowhere with new hitchhikers friends, swimming in the cold sea, reading in the sun.
I didn’t take as many pictures as I wanted to. I wanted grey, clouds and rain. It was blue, bright and sunny. But I’ll have all the time in the world this winter! Can’t wait to call Scotland home.
